Description Ethisterone is a progestogen hormone being considered to treat prostate cancer.

In vivo Ethisterone (dose range: 40 μg-5 mg/day × 6) stimulates weight gain but has a rather weak effect on the sulphate pools and incorporation rates in mice. [1] Ethisterone results in rapid increases in labeling indexes and scleroblast population began simultaneously in the central portion in the posterior margin of the joint plate in adult females of the medaka, Oryzias latipes, and the population becomes approximately ten times that in the control fish on the fifth day. [2]
