BC1618 interrupts Fbxo48/pAmpkα interaction. BC1618 facilitates mitochondrial fission and autophagy.[1]

In vivo

Consistent with augmenting Ampk activity, BC1618 promotes mitochondrial fission, facilitates autophagy and improves hepatic insulin sensitivity in high-fat-diet-induced obese mice.[1]

Cell Research:

  • Cell lines: 293T cells
  • Concentrations: 3 μM
  • Incubation Time: 30 min
  • Method:

    293T cells transfected with Fbxo48-V5 or Fbxo30-V5 are treated with control (DMSO) or BC1618 (3 μM) for 30 min. Cells are then washed and equally fractioned into 10 aliquots and subjected to a range of increasing temperatures to promote protein denaturation. After a high-speed spin to precipitate heat-denatured proteins, the soluble protein fraction from each temperature is then immunoblotted for Fbxo48 or Fbxo30.
