Description Cefixime (Cefixima, Cefiximum, Cephoral, Cefspan, FR-17027, FK-027, CL-284635) is an antibiotic useful for the treatment of a number of bacterial infections. It is a third generation cephalosporin.

  • Cell lines: Monocyte-derived THP-1 cells
  • Concentrations: 0.5 μg/ml
  • Incubation Time: 4 h 
  • Method:

    The morphological changes of serovar Typhimurium FP39 in THP-1 cells are studied by light microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. Infected THP-1 cells are treated for 4 h with 0.5 μg of cefixime/ml.
