Biological Activity

Description Baccatin Ⅲ is a polycyclic diterpene which can be used for the semi-synthesis of paclitaxel and analogs. It exhibits immunomodulatory and anticancer chemotherapeutic activities.
In vitro

Baccatin III increases MHC class I- and class II-restricted presentation of exogenous antigen in bone marrow-derived dendritic cells in vitro[3].

In vivo Oral administration of baccatin III suppresses the growth of 4 T1 mammary carcinoma and CT26 colon cancer cells. Baccatin III reduces tumor progression by inhibiting the accumulation and suppressive function of MDSCs (Myeloid-derived suppressor cells)[3].
