ML359 shows no cytotoxicity in three human cell lines (HeLa, HEK293, and HepG2), and some activity in inhibiting platelet aggregation in vitro (25% inhibition at 30 µM).[1]

Method

Cells were treated with compounds for 48 h, and then measured for cell viability, a luciferase-based reagent that measures cellular ATP levels. The compounds were tested at concentrations ranging from 26  M to 0.004  M, to determine IC50 values. Compounds that were inactive (IC50   30 µM) in this assay were considered for probe development. Data were normalized against the neutral control wells (DMSO) and positive control wells (20 uM Staurosporine, CID 44259) in Genedata Screener Assay Analyzer.
