Mechanism of Action

In vitro

Brassinolide is a naturally occurring plant hormone that promotes growth, increases yields for grain and fruit crops, and makes plants more resistant to drought and cold weather. This compound could induce a time and concentration-dependent cytotoxicity in PC-3 cells. Treatment with this chemical triggers a time-dependent decrease in the expression of anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-2 and marked accumulation in G2/M phase of cell cycle^[1].
