Biological Activity

Description Brassinolide, a plant steroid isolated from Brassica napus pollen, promotes cell elongation and cell devision and thus regulates plant growth and development.
In vitro
In vitro Brassinolide is a naturally occurring plant hormone that promotes growth, increases yields for grain and fruit crops, and makes plants more resistant to drought and cold weather. Brassinolide could induce a time and concentration-dependent cytotoxicity in PC-3 cells. Treatment with brassinolide triggers a time-dependent decrease in the expression of anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-2 and marked accumulation in G2/M phase of cell cycle[1].
Cell Research Cell lines PC-3 cells
Concentrations 0, 10, 20 and 40 μM
Incubation Time 12, 24 and 36 h
Method

PC-3 cells are treated with various concentrations of brassinolide (0, 10, 20 and 40 μM) for 12, 24 and 36 h.

Method for preparing DMSO master liquid: mg drug pre-dissolved in μL DMSO ( Master liquid concentration mg/mL, Please contact us first if the concentration exceeds the DMSO solubility of the batch of drug. )

Method for preparing in vivo formulation: Take μL DMSO master liquid, next addμL PEG300, mix and clarify, next addμL Tween 80, mix and clarify, next add μL ddH2O, mix and clarify.

Method for preparing in vivo formulation: Take μL DMSO master liquid, next add μL Corn oil, mix and clarify.

Note: 1. Please make sure the liquid is clear before adding the next solvent.
2. Be sure to add the solvent(s) in order. You must ensure that the solution obtained, in the previous addition, is a clear solution before proceeding to add the next solvent. Physical methods such
as vortex, ultrasound or hot water bath can be used to aid dissolving.
