Mechanism of Action

In vitro
The treatment of Jurkat T cells with thimerosal causes a significant decrease in cellular viability at 1 μM (25%, p<0.05; IC50: 10 μM)[1]. Thimerosal is also able to induce apoptosis and G2/M phase in human leukemia U937 cells[2].
