Hydroxyurea: Selectivity & Specificity

Hydroxyurea is a potent inhibitor of Escherichia coli RNR Ia (42.8 mM), HbF, WBC, Neutrophils, Inflammation, Nitric oxide, Cell adhesion, Platelets, Ribonucleotide phosphatase reductase, Elevated cell counts, Inflammatory cytokines, TNF, IL8, IL1B, IL6, Monocyte subsets, NET formation, Viral DNA synthesis, CD4 T cell proliferation, CD8 T cells. Hydroxyurea exhibits the greatest inhibitory potency toward Escherichia coli RNR Ia (IC50 = 42.8 mM).
