Wortmannin is a potent, covalent phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) inhibitor that suppresses phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate production with an IC50 ofin intact cells. By disrupting the PI3K/AKT signaling axis, wortmannin inhibits downstream effector activation and cytoskeletal rearrangements. These targeted pathway disruptions result in the inhibition of autophagosome formation, suppression of cell proliferation, and impairment of agonist-induced neutrophil respiratory burst responses. - Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
