Selinexor (KPT-330) is an orally bioavailable selective inhibitor of chromosome region maintenance 1 (CRM1/XPO1). By binding to CRM1, it blocks the nuclear export of tumor suppressor proteins, including p53 and IkB, leading to their nuclear retention and functional reactivation. This inhibition disrupts oncogenic signaling pathways, induces cell cycle arrest, and selectively triggers apoptosis in cancer cells. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
