Suitable: Water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide (CO2), alcohol-resistant foam.
Unsuitable: None known.

5.2 Specific hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Use alcohol foam, carbon dioxide, or water spray when fighting fires involving this material.

5.3 Advice for firefighters
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and full protective clothing.
Fight fire from upwind. Cool containers with water spray until fire is extinguished.

6.1 Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (see Section 8).
Avoid breathing dust/vapor. Ensure adequate ventilation.
Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Keep people away from and upwind of spill.
WARNING: Highly toxic — only trained personnel should handle spills.

6.2 Environmental precautions
Prevent product from entering drains, waterways, or soil.
Contain spill with inert absorbent material.

6.3 Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up
Vacuum or sweep up material and place in disposal container. After removal, flush the contaminated area thoroughly...
SRP: Criteria for land treatment or burial (sanitary landfill) disposal practices are subject to significant revision. Prior to implementing land disposal of waste residue (including waste sludge), consult with environmental regulatory agencies for guidance on acceptable disposal practices.
SRP: Wastewater from contaminant suppression, cleaning of protective clothing/equipment, or contaminated sites should be contained and evaluated for subject chemical or decomposition product concentrations. Concentrations shall be lower than applicable environmental discharge or disposal criteria. Alternatively, pretreatment and/or discharge to a permitted wastewater treatment facility is acceptable only after review by the governing authority and assurance that "pass through" violations will not occur. Due consideration shall be given to remediation worker exposure (inhalation, dermal and ingestion) as well as fate during treatment, transfer and disposal. If it is not practicable to manage the chemical in this fashion, it must be evaluated in accordance with EPA 40 CFR Part 261, specifically Subpart B, in order to determine the appropriate local, state and federal requirements for disposal.
...In case of skin contact, immediately wash skin with soap and plenty of water. Remove contaminated clothing. Get medical attention if symptoms occur. Wash clothing before reuse.
...In case of contact with eyes, hold eyelids apart and flush eyes with plenty of water. After initial flushings, remove any contact lenses and continue flushing for at least 15 minutes. After initial flushings, remove any contact lenses and continue flushing for at least 15 minutes...
If inhaled remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration or give oxygen by trained personnel. Get immediate medical attention...
SRP: Contaminated protective clothing should be segregated in such a manner so that there is no direct personal contact by personnel who handle, dispose, or clean the clothing. The completeness of the cleaning procedures should be considered before the decontaminated protective clothing is returned for reuse by the workers. Contaminated clothing should not be taken home at the end of shift, but should remain at employee's place of work for cleaning.

7.1 Precautions for safe handling
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practices.
Wear appropriate PPE (see Section 8). Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing.
Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Do not eat, drink, or smoke in work area.
Avoid dust formation. Use only in a chemical fume hood or well-ventilated area.

7.2 Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Keep container tightly closed.
Store away from incompatible materials (see Section 10).

Recommended storage (industry convention for research compounds): -20°C for long-term storage; 2-8°C for short-term use and transport.
[Note: This is a general industry recommendation. Always verify exact storage conditions with the supplier Certificate of Analysis (COA).]

12.1 Toxicity
Rosmarinic acid's production and use in herbal supplements and in food flavoring, beverages, food preservatives and as a cosmetic may result in its release to the environment through various waste streams. Rosmarinic acid occurs in many common herbal plants of the Lamiaceae group including rosemary, sage, spanish sage, oregano, basil, marjoram, thyme, the mint group, lavender, perilla and lemon balm. If released to air, an estimated vapor pressure of 1.1X10-13 mm Hg at 25 °C indicates rosmarinic acid will exist solely in the particulate phase in the atmosphere. Particulate-phase rosmarinic acid will be removed from the atmosphere by wet and dry deposition. If released to soil, rosmarinic acid is expected to have high mobility based upon an estimated Koc of 60. The pKa of rosmarinic acid is 3.57, indicating that this compound will exist partially in anion form in the environment and anions generally do not adsorb more strongly to soils containing organic carbon and clay than their neutral counterparts. Volatilization from moist soil surfaces is not expected to be an important fate process based upon an estimated Henry's Law constant of 2.7X10-27 atm-cu m/mole. Rosmarinic acid is not expected to volatilize from dry soil surfaces based upon its vapor pressure. Rosmarinic acid has a UV absorption maximum at 332 nm: therefore, it may be susceptible to direct photolysis on soil surfaces exposed to sunlight. Biodegradation data in soil or water were not available. If released into w
