Pretomanid (PA-824) is a nitroimidazo-oxazine antibacterial agent targeting Mycobacterium tuberculosis with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) range of 0.015 to. It acts through inhibition of mycolic acid biosynthesis and respiratory poisoning, disrupting bacterial cell wall integrity and cellular energy metabolism. PA-824 exhibits potent dose-dependent bactericidal and sterilizing activity against both aerobic and anaerobic M. tuberculosis populations in vitro and in murine models. [1][2]
