Memantine HCl is an uncompetitive antagonist of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor that also inhibits recombinant CYP2B6 and CYP2D6 enzymes. By selectively blocking excessive NMDA receptor-mediated calcium ion influx, it attenuates glutamate-induced excitotoxicity and preserves synaptic function. This inhibition modulates downstream calcium signaling and apoptotic pathways, preventing neurodegeneration and maintaining physiological neuronal activity. [1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
