MCC950 is a potent and selective NLRP3 inflammasome inhibitor with an IC50 ofin mouse bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs) andin human monocyte-derived macrophages (HMDMs). It specifically blocks both canonical and non-canonical NLRP3 activation without affecting AIM2, NLRC4, or NLRP1 inflammasomes. Consequently, MCC950 reduces the processing and release of interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and IL-18, suppressing downstream inflammatory signaling. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
