Ivabradine HCl is a selective hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated (HCN) channel blocker that selectively inhibits the cardiac pacemaker If current. By targeting HCN channels in the sinoatrial node, it suppresses spontaneous diastolic depolarization and slows the pacemaker firing rate without altering cardiac contractility or ventricular repolarization pathways.
