Vardenafil HCl Trihydrate is a potent phosphodiesterase (PDE) inhibitor that selectively targets PDE5 (IC50 = 0.7 nM) and PDE1 (IC50 = 180 nM). By inhibiting PDE5, vardenafil prevents the degradation of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), enhancing NO/cGMP-mediated signaling pathways. This activity promotes vascular smooth muscle relaxation and supports erectile function and structural maintenance of the penile corpora cavernosa in preclinical models. [1]
