Biological Activity

Z433927330 is a potent aquaglyceroporin inhibitor that selectively targets mouse AQP7, while also inhibiting mouse AQP3 and mouse AQP9. By blocking these transmembrane channels, the compound impairs glycerol and water flux across biological cell membranes. This inhibition attenuates downstream glycerol-dependent pathways, including lipid metabolism and cellular volume regulation, providing a valuable chemical tool for metabolic research. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
