XY1 is an inactive analog and chemical control compound for SGC707, a potent and selective allosteric inhibitor of protein arginine methyltransferase 3 (PRMT3). While SGC707 inhibits PRMT3 methyltransferase activity (IC50 of; Kd of, XY1 lacks inhibitory activity against PRMT3. It serves as a negative control in biological assays to evaluate potential off-target effects and validate PRMT3-dependent cellular phenotypes and signaling pathways. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
