Biological Activity

TI17 is a small-molecule inhibitor targeting thyroid hormone receptor-interacting protein 13 (TRIP13), an AAA-ATPase essential for DNA double-strand break (DSB) repair. By impairing TRIP13 function, TI17 increases DNA damage responses, leading to cell cycle arrest at the G0/G1 phase and triggering apoptosis. This inhibition effectively suppresses cell proliferation and abrogates tumor growth in multiple myeloma models. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
