Biological Activity

Umbralisib (TGR-1202) is a novel, next-generation inhibitor targeting phosphoinositide 3-kinase delta (PI3Kδ). By selectively inhibiting PI3Kδ enzyme activity, umbralisib attenuates downstream AKT/mTOR signaling pathways, impairing key cellular functions necessary for cell growth and survival. This targeted inhibition disrupts oncogenic signal transduction, resulting in reduced cell proliferation, inhibition of cell migration, and the induction of apoptotic cell death. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
