Biological Activity

SW-044248 is a non-canonical topoisomerase I (Top1) inhibitor that exhibits selective cytotoxicity against non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells. By targeting Top1, it disrupts DNA replication and transcription integrity, inducing DNA damage pathways and promoting apoptotic cell death. This selective toxicity renders SW-044248 a useful chemical probe for dissecting Top1-dependent signaling mechanisms and targeted therapeutic strategies in NSCLC model systems. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
