SGI-1027 is a DNA methyltransferase (DNMT) inhibitor that targets DNMT1 (IC50 of, DNMT3A (IC50 of, and DNMT3B (IC50 of in cell-free assays. By inhibiting DNA methylation and promoting the degradation of DNMT1, SGI-1027 reactivates silenced tumor suppressor genes. Consequently, it inhibits cancer cell proliferation and induces apoptosis across multiple cancer cell lines. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
