Sal003 is a cell-permeable inhibitor of eIF2α phosphatase that prevents the dephosphorylation of eukaryotic initiation factor 2α (eIF2α). By maintaining eIF2α in its phosphorylated state, Sal003 suppresses general protein translation initiation while promoting endoplasmic reticulum stress signaling and modulating synaptic plasticity. This inhibition elevates cellular levels of phosphorylated eIF2α and influences translation-dependent cellular phenotypes. [1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
