RSL3 is a potent, selective, and covalent GPX4 inhibitor. It affects ferroptosis and lipid peroxidation signaling, by covalently binding to the active site selenocysteine of GPX4, promoting the lethal accumulation of lipid reactive oxygen species and inducing iron-dependent cell death.
