4.2 Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
See Section 11 (Toxicological Information).
4.3 Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Treat symptomatically. Contact a poison control center or physician for severe exposure.
5.1 Extinguishing media
Suitable: Water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide (CO2), alcohol-resistant foam.
Unsuitable: None known.
5.2 Specific hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Suitable Extinguishing Media: Use alcohol-resistant foam, carbon dioxide, water, or dry chemical spray. Use water spray to cool fire-exposed containers.
Unsuitable Extinguishing Media: A solid water stream may be inefficient.
As in any fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus pressure-demand (NIOSH approved or equivalent), and full protective gear to prevent contact with skin and eyes.
5.3 Advice for firefighters
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and full protective clothing.
Fight fire from upwind. Cool containers with water spray until fire is extinguished.
6.1 Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (see Section 8).
Avoid breathing dust/vapor. Ensure adequate ventilation.
Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Keep people away from and upwind of spill.
WARNING: Highly toxic — only trained personnel should handle spills.
6.2 Environmental precautions
Prevent product from entering drains, waterways, or soil.
Contain spill with inert absorbent material.
6.3 Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up
Released or Spilled: Avoid raising and breathing dust, and provide adequate ventilation. As conditions warrant, wear a NIOSH approved self-contained breathing apparatus, or respirator, and appropriate personal protection (rubber boots, safety goggles, and heavy rubber gloves). Transfer to proper chemical waste container for disposal.
SRP: Criteria for land treatment or burial (sanitary landfill) disposal practices are subject to significant revision. Prior to implementing land disposal of waste residue (including waste sludge), consult with environmental regulatory agencies for guidance on acceptable disposal practices.
SRP: Wastewater from contaminant suppression, cleaning of protective clothing/equipment, or contaminated sites should be contained and evaluated for subject chemical or decomposition product concentrations. Concentrations shall be lower than applicable environmental discharge or disposal criteria. Alternatively, pretreatment and/or discharge to a permitted wastewater treatment facility is acceptable only after review by the governing authority and assurance that "pass through" violations will not occur. Due consideration shall be given to remediation worker exposure (inhalation, dermal and ingestion) as well as fate during treatment, transfer and disposal. If it is not practicable to manage the chemical in this fashion, it must be evaluated in accordance with EPA 40 CFR Part 261, specifically Subpart B, in order to determine the appropriate local, state and federal requirements for disposal.
SRP: Contaminated protective clothing should be segregated in such a manner so that there is no direct personal contact by personnel who handle, dispose, or clean the clothing. The completeness of the cleaning procedures should be considered before the decontaminated protective clothing is returned for reuse by the workers. Contaminated clothing should not be taken home at the end of shift, but should remain at employee's place of work for cleaning.
Lab coat
Wash thoroughly after handling.
Avoid breathing (dust, vapor, mist, gas). Avoid prolonged or repeated exposure.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

12.1 Toxicity
Pseudolaric acid B's production and use as an antifungal medication may result in its release to the environment through various waste streams. The compound is isolated from the extract of the root bark of Pseudolarix kaempferi Gordon (Pinaceae). If released to air, an estimated vapor pressure of 2.0X10-11 mm Hg at 25 °C indicates pseudolaric acid B will exist solely in the particulate phase in the atmosphere. Particulate-phase pseudolaric acid B will be removed from the atmosphere by wet or dry deposition. Pseudolaric acid B contains chromophores that absorb at wavelengths >290 nm and, therefore, may be susceptible to direct photolysis by sunlight. If released to soil, pseudolaric acid B is expected to have no mobility based upon an estimated Koc of 9500. The pKa of pseudolaric acid B is estimated as 4.14, indicating that this compound will exist almost entirely in anion form in the environment and anions generally do not adsorb more strongly to soils containing organic carbon and clay than their neutral counterparts. Volatilization from moist soil is not expected because the acid exists as an anion and anions do not volatilize. If released into water, pseudolaric acid B is expected to adsorb to suspended solids and sediment based upon the estimated Koc. Volatilization from water surfaces is not expected to be an important fate process based upon this compound's estimated pKa. An estimated BCF of 3 suggests the potential for bioconcentration in aquatic organisms is low. Pseu
