PRIMA-1 is a small-molecule mutant p53 reactivator. By restoring the wild-type conformation and transcriptional activity of mutant p53, PRIMA-1 reactivates downstream p53 target genes involved in cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. This restoration triggers apoptotic cell death and inhibits the proliferation of various human tumor cells expressing mutant p53 both in vitro and in vivo. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
