Pheniramine maleate is an antihistamine and anticholinergic agent that functions as a histamine H1 receptor antagonist. By blocking histamine H1 receptor signaling, it inhibits histamine-induced activation of downstream signaling cascades. This competitive inhibition suppresses capillary permeability, smooth muscle constriction, and allergic inflammatory phenotypes, thereby blunting histamine-driven cellular responses and hypersensitivity reactions.
