Oxybuprocaine HCl is a local anesthetic that acts as a sodium channel inhibitor. It reversibly binds to voltage-gated sodium channels on neuronal membranes, inhibiting influx of sodium ions during depolarization. This blockade prevents the generation and conduction of nerve action potentials, suppressing sensory signal transmission. Consequently, oxybuprocaine stabilizes neuronal membranes and reduces cellular excitability in peripheral nerve pathways. [1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
