Oxfendazole is a broad-spectrum benzimidazole anthelmintic agent that targets parasitic β-tubulin. By selectively binding to β-tubulin, oxfendazole inhibits microtubule polymerization, impairing cellular structure, nutrient uptake, and energy metabolism in helminths. This leads to the disruption of mitotic spindle formation and eventual parasite death, exhibiting potent antiparasitic activity against various gastrointestinal nematodes and larval cestodes. [1]
