Biological Activity

Olodaterol is a potent, long-acting β2-adrenergic receptor agonist. Activation of the β2-adrenergic receptor stimulates intracellular adenylate cyclase, leading to increased cyclic AMP levels and activation of protein kinase A. This signaling cascade results in airway smooth muscle relaxation and bronchodilation. Olodaterol exhibits high selectivity and sustained bronchodilatory activity, making it effective for the management of respiratory diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
