Biological Activity

UNC1215 is a potent and selective malignant brain tumor (MBT) domain antagonist that targets L3MBTL3, Kd 120 nM) with greater than 50-fold selectivity over other human MBT domain family members. By competing with methylated lysine residues for binding to L3MBTL3, UNC1215 disrupts chromocenter localization and modulates chromatin dynamics, providing a valuable chemical probe for investigating MBT domain-mediated epigenetic regulation and cellular phenotypes. FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
