Biological Activity

NQDI-1 is a selective inhibitor of apoptosis signal-regulating kinase 1 (ASK1). By targeted inhibition of ASK1 kinase activity, NQDI-1 suppresses downstream JNK and p38 MAPK signaling cascades, thereby mitigating oxidative stress-induced cell injury and inflammatory responses. In preclinical functional studies, NQDI-1 attenuates acute ischemic renal injury, reduces cellular oxidative stress, and decreases programmed cell death in renal tissues.

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
