Biological Activity

NP-G2-044 is a potent, orally active small-molecule inhibitor of fascin that specifically targets its actin-bundling activity. By blocking fascin-mediated cross-linking of actin filaments into parallel bundles, NP-G2-044 disrupts filopodia formation and dynamic membrane protrusion. Inhibition of fascin function impairs cancer cell motility and invasion, resulting in blocked tumor metastasis and heightened antitumor immune responses in preclinical models. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
