Biological Activity

NKL 22 is a selective histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor. By inhibiting HDAC activity, this compound prevents the deacetylation of core histones and key non-histone proteins, thereby modulating gene expression and chromatin remodeling. Blockade of HDAC function disrupts cell cycle progression, induces apoptosis, and alters downstream signaling cascades in various cancer cell models. These targeted cellular mechanisms highlight the therapeutic potential of HDAC inhibition in oncology and epigenetics research. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
