MK-886 is a potent inhibitor of leukotriene biosynthesis that targets 5-lipoxygenase-activating protein (FLAP) and acts as a PPARα antagonist. By selectively binding FLAP, MK-886 blocks the essential membrane translocation of 5-lipoxygenase, thereby effectively suppressing leukotriene production. Consequently, MK-886 attenuates inflammatory signaling pathways and suppresses cellular proliferation while inducing apoptosis in various cancer cell models. [1]
