Biological Activity

Mitochondrial fusion promoter M1 is a small-molecule mitochondrial dynamic modulator that targets mitochondrial fusion pathways. It increases the expression of mitofusin 2 (Mfn2), a mitochondrial outer membrane fusion protein, thereby promoting mitochondrial elongation and preserving cellular respiration. Through these mechanisms, M1 reduces mitochondrial dysfunction, maintains organelle integrity, and alleviates tissue injury in rat models of cardiac ischemia/reperfusion injury. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
