Biological Activity

Mibefradil dihydrochloride (Ro 40-5967 dihydrochloride) is a nondihydropyridine Ca2+ channel antagonist that reversibly inhibits T-type calcium currents (IC50 2.7 μM) and L-type calcium currents (IC50 18.6 μM). Selective blockade of calcium influx increases coronary blood flow during ischemia and attenuates vascular smooth muscle proliferation following injury, supporting its application in congestive heart failure research.
