Metoclopramide HCl is a selective dopamine D2 receptor antagonist. By competitively blocking central and peripheral dopamine D2 receptors, it prevents dopamine-induced inhibition of gastrointestinal smooth muscle motility and inhibits neurotransmission within the chemoreceptor trigger zone. Consequently, this targeted receptor blockade promotes gastric emptying, enhances upper gastrointestinal tract peristalsis, and suppresses emetic signaling pathways involved in nausea and vomiting responses.

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
