4.1 Description of first aid measures
Inhalation: INHALATION: IMMEDIATELY leave the contaminated area; take deep breaths of fresh air. If symptoms (such as wheezing, coughing, shortness of breath, or burning in the mouth, throat, or chest) develop, call a physician and be prepared to transport the victim to a hospital. Provide proper respiratory protection to rescuers entering an unknown atmosphere. Whenever possible, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) should be used; if not available, use a level of protection greater than or equal to t
Skin contact: SKIN: IMMEDIATELY flood affected skin with water while removing and isolating all contaminated clothing. Gently wash all affected skin areas thoroughly with soap and water. If symptoms such as redness or irritation develop, IMMEDIATELY call a physician and be prepared to transport the victim to a hospital for treatment.
Eye contact: EYES: First check the victim for contact lenses and remove if present. Flush victim's eyes with water or normal saline solution for 20 to 30 minutes while simultaneously calling a hospital or poison control center. Do not put any ointments, oils, or medication in the victim's eyes without specific instructions from a physician. If symptoms (such as redness or irritation) develop, immediately transport the victim to a hospital.
Ingestion: INGESTION: DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. If the victim is conscious and not convulsing, give 1 or 2 glasses of water to dilute the chemical and IMMEDIATELY call a hospital or poison control center. Be prepared to transport the victim to a hospital if advised by a physician. If the victim is convulsing or unconscious, do not give anything by mouth, ensure that the victim's airway is open and lay the victim on his/her side with the head lower than the body. DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. IMMEDIATELY transport

11.2 Additional information
No additional toxicological information available.

12.1 Toxicity
Mebendazole's production and use as as an anthelmintic treatment in both humans and animals may result in its release to the environment through various waste streams. If released to air, an estimated vapor pressure of 5.3X10-11 mm Hg at 25 °C indicates mebendazole will exist solely in the particulate phase in the atmosphere. Particulate-phase mebendazole will be removed from the atmosphere by wet or dry deposition. If released to soil, mebendazole is expected to have low mobility based upon an estimated Koc of 830. Volatilization from moist soil surfaces is not expected to be an important fate process based on an estimated Henry's Law constant of 5.4Z10-16 atm-cu m/mole for the neutral species. Mebendazole is not expected to volatilize from dry soil surfaces based upon its vapor pressure. Biodegradation data were not available for mebendazole. If released into water, mebendazole is expected to adsorb to suspended solids and sediment based upon the estimated Koc. Volatilization from water surfaces is not expected to be an important fate process based upon this compound's estimated Henry's Law constant. An estimated BCF of 83 suggests bioconcentration in aquatic organisms is moderate. Based on photolysis half-lives of less than 80 minutes in sun-lit waters determined for the structurally similar compound albendazole, mebendazole is expected to be susceptible to direct photolysis by sunlight. Estimated half-lives for the hydrolysis of mebendazole at pH values of 7 and 8 are 840

12.2 Persistence and degradability
