Biological Activity

MAZ51 is a small-molecule inhibitor targeting vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-3 (VEGFR-3/Flt-4) tyrosine kinase. Blockade of VEGFR-3 signaling impacts key downstream cascades including Akt/GSK3β phosphorylation and RhoA activation, leading to cell rounding and G2/M cell cycle arrest. Through these mechanism-driven pathway alterations, MAZ51 suppresses cellular proliferation and triggers apoptosis in multiple tumor cell lines. [1][2]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
