M2N12 is a cell division cycle 25 (Cdc25) protein phosphatase inhibitor targeting Cdc25C (IC=, Cdc25A (IC=, and Cdc25B (IC=. By blocking Cdc25 phosphatase activity, M2N12 impairs cyclin-dependent kinase dephosphorylation and downstream cell cycle regulatory pathways, leading to cell cycle arrest and notable antiproliferative anti-tumor activity in cancer cells. Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
