LXR-623 (WAY-252623) is an orally bioavailable agonist of liver X receptor-α (LXR-α, and liver X receptor-β (LXR-β,. Activation of LXRs by LXR-623 upregulates the expression of ATP-binding cassette transporters ABCA1 and ABCG1, promoting reverse cholesterol transport and cellular lipid efflux. Concurrently, it suppresses pro-inflammatory gene expression, effectively reducing atherosclerotic lesion progression in dyslipidemic animal models. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
