Biological Activity
YC-1 (Lificiguat) is a nitric oxide (NO)-independent activator of soluble guanylyl cyclase (sGC) and an inhibitor of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α). Activation of sGC increases intracellular cyclic GMP (cGMP) accumulation, suppressing platelet aggregation and vascular smooth muscle contraction. Additionally, YC-1 downregulates HIF-1α protein levels under hypoxic conditions, blocking HIF-1-mediated transcriptional activity and inhibiting tumor angiogenesis and cell proliferation. [1][2]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).

Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer longer shelf life compared to stock solutions.
