Biological Activity

KC7F2 is a selective inhibitor of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) translation. By suppressing HIF-1α protein synthesis without altering its mRNA levels, it blocks hypoxia-induced activation of the HIF-1 signaling pathway. This inhibition leads to the downregulation of critical downstream target genes involved in cellular adaptation to hypoxia, tumor angiogenesis, and metabolic reprogramming, thereby impairing cellular survival and proliferation under hypoxic microenvironments. Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
