Biological Activity

JG98 is an allosteric inhibitor of heat shock protein 70 (Hsp70) that binds tightly to a conserved deep pocket within the Hsp70 family. By inhibiting Hsp70 chaperone function, JG98 disrupts downstream oncogenic signaling and destabilizes client proteins, leading to classical apoptotic responses characterized by morphological changes and annexin V positivity. Consequently, JG98 exhibits potent anticancer activity and suppresses tumor cell proliferation across multiple cancer models. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
