Biological Activity

Jaceosidin is a natural flavonoid isolated from Artemisia species that acts as an anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory agent. It inhibits cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) expression and suppresses NF-κB signaling pathway activation. Furthermore, jaceosidin downregulates anti-apoptotic proteins including Mcl-1 and c-FLIP while stimulating pro-apoptotic Bax activation, thereby inducing apoptosis and suppressing cancer cell proliferation across diverse tumor cell lines. FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
