Biological Activity

ITSA-1 is a small-molecule suppressor that selectively counteracts trichostatin A (TSA)-induced histone hyperacetylation and histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibition. By suppressing TSA-mediated signaling without affecting HDAC inhibition induced by other HDAC inhibitors, ITSA-1 modulates chromatin remodeling, histone acetylation dynamics, and downstream gene transcription. Consequently, ITSA-1 rescues cells from TSA-induced growth arrest and suppresses TSA-dependent cellular phenotypes. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
