ID-8 is a small-molecule inhibitor targeting dual-specificity tyrosine-phosphorylation-regulated kinase (DYRK) family enzymes. By inhibiting DYRK kinase activity, ID-8 regulates downstream phosphorylation pathways that support the maintenance of pluripotency signaling. This targeted inhibition suppresses spontaneous differentiation and promotes the long-term self-renewal of embryonic stem cells in culture, preserving stem cell identity over extended passaging. [1]
