Hydroxytyrosol acetate is a natural polyphenol derived from extra virgin olive oil with potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. It suppresses inflammatory signaling by reducing the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) via inhibition of the NF-kB and MAPK pathways. Downstream, hydroxytyrosol acetate attenuates the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, including TNF-α and IL-6, thereby mitigating oxidative stress and inflammatory tissue injury.

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
