GW3965 Hydrochloride is a synthetic, non-steroidal liver X receptor (LXR) agonist targeting hLXRα and hLXRβ. Activation of LXR induces downstream expression of ATP-binding cassette transporters ABCA1 and ABCG1 in macrophages, promoting reverse cholesterol transport and increasing circulating high-density lipoprotein levels. In animal models of atherosclerosis, GW3965 Hydrochloride significantly reduces vascular lesion area and demonstrates potent antiatherogenic activity. [1][2]
